How to build a website that captures the top 20 most cinematic moments of the last decade of your life

This is Colton's actual family archive, being built in public. What is it? A single page. Twenty slots. The best footage from ten years of being alive: honeymoons, drone shots, grandmothers, owls, babies, mountains. The point: you can have one too, and the recipe is below, free.

Slot 01 // The Headliner
Ireland // Mulligan drone footage // 1m45s

The Recipe

Three steps. No gatekeeping.
01

Pile up the footage

Get your clips somewhere embeddable: Vimeo, YouTube, wherever. Phone videos count. Drone shots count double. You need 20 or fewer; gaps are allowed and honestly kind of charming.

02

Steal the prompt

Copy the prompt below. It is the actual prompt, not a watered-down version. Paste it into Claude along with your video links and let it argue with itself about typography for a while.

03

Put it on a domain

Cloudflare Pages, Netlify, GitHub Pages: all free tiers. Colton's whole empire runs on roughly $1.25/month of domain renewals. Then send the link to your mom. That's the launch strategy.

The Prompt, aka The Repo

This is the code. The prompt is the code now.
Build me a single-page website called "[YOUR NAME]'s Top 20."

The concept: the 20 most cinematic moments from the last decade of my life,
each one an embedded video in a numbered slot.

Style: bold editorial typography (a heavy condensed display face for headlines,
a monospace for labels), a warm paper background, near-black text, one loud
accent color. Big hero video up top labeled "Slot 01 // The Headliner."

Structure:
1. Hero: the single best clip, full-width, with a one-line story under it.
2. A grid of the remaining slots, 16:9, each with a number, a title,
and a one-line caption written like a film festival program.
3. Empty slots stay visible with "SLOT OPEN" placeholders, because a life
   is not finished.
4. A short footer that says who made this and why.

Here are my videos (title + link + one sentence about why it matters):

Keep it a single HTML file, vanilla everything, fast, and make it feel like
a movie poster for an ordinary life.

That's really it. The rest of this page is what came out the other side. If you want Colton to walk you through it live, book a build session and bring your footage.

Room to live

Colton curates these from his Vimeo when the mood strikes. If a slot is open, it isn't laziness; it's optimism.
